Poliankovo
Poliankovo is a modern and unique digital gallery and cafe located in Tatranská Polianka in the High Tatras region of Slovakia.
It is another project developed by the same creators as Tricklandia, but while Tricklandia focuses on optical illusions and trick-art, Poliankovo concentrates on the fusion of art and modern digital technologies.
Key Features and the Experience
Poliankovo is designed to offer an immersive visual experience by leveraging advanced technology:
- Digital Art Focus: The gallery uses a large exhibition space (around 500–600 m2) to showcase art primarily through digital means, moving away from traditional static exhibits.
- Technology Integration: The exhibits often feature various technologies, including:
- Virtual Reality (VR): Allowing visitors to explore inaccessible places (e.g., hidden halls of the Domica Cave).
- Hologram: Creating dynamic and deeply visual effects.
- Augmented Reality (AR): Bringing images to life by adding digital layers, animations, or effects (e.g., animating animals or cities).
- Thematic Exhibitions: Poliankovo does not feature a single permanent exhibition. Instead, it hosts also rotating themed exhibits. For example, they often collaborate with famous Slovak documentarians (like Pavel Barabáš) to present exhibitions focused on inaccessible places on our planet ("Dialogue with the Planet").
- Cafe: A comfortable cafe area is integrated into the space, offering a place for visitors to relax and process the digital experience.
In summary: Poliankovo is an interactive destination in the High Tatras that blends art with the digital world, offering a different kind of sensory experience compared to traditional museums.
